The Wyatt Trust

Established by Dr. Wyatt in 1881, The Wyatt Trust has supported South Australians experiencing poverty for over 135 years. With a steadfast focus on individuals, Wyatt has evolved its grant-making practices, distributing more than $66 million in grants and helping over 78,000 South Australians. At its core, Wyatt exists to challenge inequality and eradicate poverty.

We were engaged to consolidate and elevate the Wyatt brand, ensuring a consistent and coherent visual and narrative identity across all communications. A key focus of this work was embedding Wyatt’s deep commitment to reconciliation within their brand story in a way that was seamless and authentic.

In addition to shaping Wyatt’s brand presence, we have collaborated on a number of annual reports that speak to the organisation’s powerful legacy and ongoing impact - assisting and improving the lives of many South Australians experiencing hardship.

A recent standout project is  has been the Lived and Living Experience Report - a deeply human-centred and multi-layered initiative capturing real stories, systemic insights, and diverse perspectives from people with lived and living experience of hardship in South Australia. As design partners, our role was to translate this complex, multi-stakeholder content into a clear, respectful, and engaging visual experience - ensuring the design enhanced rather than overshadowed the voices and themes within.

A flexible yet structured grid system was developed to manage dense content, while establishing a strong typographic hierarchy to support clarity and accessibility. Recognising the deeply personal and sensitive nature of the content, we moved away from traditional photography, instead creating a bespoke suite of linocut illustrations and icons inspired by The Wyatt Trust logo. Each mark was intentionally imperfect: simple, expressive, and inherently human. This reinforced Wyatt’s grounded, hands-on ethos and acknowledged that every statistic represents a real human story.

Pull-quotes were thoughtfully integrated to elevate personal voices and add rhythm to the report, while the visual language was deliberately warm, inclusive, and consistent. This project shows how design can interpret and support complex stories, creating space for honesty and lived wisdom.
