Palmer Sculpture Biennial Exhibition
Deep in the Adelaide Hills of South Australia lies the small hamlet of Palmer. In 2001, our client Greg Johns - an internationally renowned sculptor - visited a property and immediately fell in love with its barren, elemental forms. In collaboration with Gavin Malone, Greg developed the concept for the Palmer Project, encompassing both the rehabilitation of the landscape and the display of his own work alongside a diverse range of contemporary sculpture. From this vision, the Palmer Sculpture Biennial was born.
Local, national and global artists ranging from emerging to established backgrounds are invited to exhibit their responses to the amazing landscape.
Detour has been the proud design partner of the exhibition catalogue since its inception, whose main purpose is to reflect the calibre of artists involved in the project and their response to the landscape. Each page expresses the unique and diverse approaches used by the artists involved.
